What Nourishes Your Soul? – (Chapter: Chapter Five)
“Ashley, this is Mr. Chang. He is an old and dear friend of my family‘s.”, Spencer said smiling.
“Nice to meet you.”, Ashley said finally relaxing a little. Fuck…I didn’t know what the hell was going on. The man shook his head smiling widely, then let her hand go and walked back through where he came from, picking the cleaver back up as he went.
“This is his shop. I come here sometimes after work.”, Spencer said running her thumb over the hand that was still holding hers. She took the girl and lead them behind the counter following Mr. Chang into the back. Ashley was surprised when the walked into what was almost like a small dining room. It was dimly lit by a few candles that sat on the small tables. A few eccentric looking people sat at them causally eating and chatting. A few of them nodded their greeting or a small wave. Spencer smiled at a man that had shoulder length hair, his arms covered in tattoos, “River..how ya doin man?” He nodded in response, “Too long Spence. Keepn’ it real, you?” “You know it!”, she exclaimed as they passed by him and he smiled at the two. Just then a young Asian girl about sixteen appeared squealing and threw her arms around Spencer’s neck, knocking Ashley back a little. She was gorgeous with dark almond-shaped eyes, blue tipped black hair and was dressed in punk rock clothing. “Hey sweetie.”, Spencer said wrapping her arms around the girl. Ashley’s face suddenly grew very hot as she glared at the girl. Spencer smiled and took Ashley by the hand, “Ming I want you to meet Ashley.”, Spencer exclaimed. The young woman’s smile disappeared as she looked at Spencer’s hand on Ashley’s making a smirk spread across Ashley’s lips. Haha..so sad little one. “Hello Ming.”, Ashley said offering the girl her hand. “Ima go help daddy with the food. Bye Spencer!”, the girl said smiling as she looked at Spencer then sent Ashley an evil glare before disappearing behind another door. “You wanna sit somewhere a little less crowded?”, Spencer asked and Ashley nodded enthusiastic. They continued walking until the passed by a wall that ran halfway across the room, separating it a little. Spencer sat down in the booth against the wall, stretching an arm across the back on it. She smiled when Ashley sat down beside her instead of in the chair across from her.
